VCDS is running non-formal schools to reduce the school dropout ratio, increase the quality of basic education and have a strong basement for the school education for the children of migrant, destitute, marginalized and economically poor of Villupuram district aiming towards social transformation and community development. Currently we are running 18 non formal schools under Non-Formal Education for Democracy which aims at giving right based democratic education for children in order to establish child rights, equal education opportunity and to strengthen the participatory right of the children. Approximately 550 children pass out through these 12 schools every year. These schools run for 2 hours every day from 5.30 to 7.30, 6 days a week.
