VCDS is having a farm field schools for the farmers residing around VCDS working in the field of organic and traditional farming methods. Vermi compost, compost, herbal pesticide and insecticide production and panchakaviya production are taught here. Soil health care encouraging the green manuring, rain water harvesting, quality and sustainable agricultural production through organic farming are the main themes to revive our sustainable agriculture system and to achieve food security. VCDS also encourages farmers to protect traditional seed varieties through the farmer’s seed bank on traditional seeds. We are also working in the field of horticulture in 5 villages among 125 farmers in 5 farmers’ federation. The farmers are also given micro-credit to increase their organic food grains production and establish a market among them for organic food items. The beneficiaries are from small to marginal farmers both men & women.
