The language spoken in this region is Tamil. Villupurm district, where we are located is characterized by semi arid tropical climate. Our district receives the maximum rainfall from the north east monsoon season. The temperature is moderate. About 9.93% of the land is forest. The natural resources available in this region are four rivers, minor forest, red soil, river sand, and ground level drinking water, stone quarry (black granites and blue metals) but unfortunately all these resources are mined out illegally. Agriculture is the main livelihood resource of the people. Due to unchecked utilization of resources nowadays they have become scarce. The primary objective of VCDS is to protect the bio diversity that is essential for sustainable development and the livelihood resources of the people.
